Green Your House with These Tips
We spend a lot of time and money in our homes, so why not make it more environmentally friendly? Over time, environmentally-friendly homes not only save money but also protect the environment, meaning that your children and their children and their children can enjoy the same fresh air and clean lakes that you did as a child. Not a bad plan, right?

Instead of asking for huge amounts of money to be spent on new windows or solar panels or forcing you to live like a caveman in no heat, our goals are simple ideas for the daily family to follow.
These are therefore our steps to make your house more environmentally friendly.
Switch off your gadgets!
Did you know that most electronic devices and devices still use power even when they are turned off? From the coffee maker to the microwave, the laptop to the speakers, devices that are connected, your energy consumption continues to decrease significantly long after you go to bed.
You can reduce your energy consumption quickly and cheaply by simply disconnecting your devices and devices when they are not in use or by connecting them to a powerbar, which can then close them all at once. Bonus: no bright, flashing LED lighting at night.
Replace your light bulbs
Although this may cost some extra dollars in the beginning, buying new light bulbs is a great investment in the long run. Old-fashioned light bulbs waste tons of energy than their new competition of compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) and LED lamps, both of which last ten times as long and waste up to ⅔ less energy. This means lower water costs, clear rooms and fewer trips to the mall. Win, win, win.
Use A Microwave!
It may seem strange, but a stove or oven can use much, much more energy than a microwave. This is because a microwave oven can prepare food faster, making it 50% more efficient than a conventional oven. Zap away, but make sure you unplug the power cord when you're done!
Start composting
Don't waste and invest in a composter today. A composter can turn your household waste into healthy, organic dirt, perfect for spring gardeners or anyone who is tired of piling up their garbage bags every week.
A household composter can be small, fitting next to your garbage can. It can change everything from coffee grinds to apple cores and reduces the amount of waste that you have to deal with at home (and in the world). Moreover, it makes the garbage day a little less smelly, and we all agree on that.
Wash cold and hang to dry
Did you know that 80 to 90 percent of household energy is wasted on hot water? Although we are not yet telling you to take cold showers, you can become more environmentally friendly by simply washing your clothes in cold water and then hanging them to dry. This prevents a lot of energy being wasted on both heating the water and subsequently blasting the clothes with heat.
